Our vision

for an independent, transparent airsoft knowledge-base

Getting into airsoft is hard. On one hand, there is a plethora of information on the internet and elsewhere about what replica(s) to buy, what gear to buy, which BBs to use, what YouTubers to watch, etc. The problem is that none of that information is objective. Each YouTuber has a group of followers who will buy and say anything they are told, as well as a group of haters who want said YouTuber removed from all platforms and maybe put on death row, while we're at it.

Then there are shops, who will upload "review" videos to YouTube, where they conduct a precision test of a long-range airsoft rifle at 20 meters and tell you to purchase the rifle immediately, because it looks awesome with that scope and bipod. Honest, unbiased and in-depth reviews about airsoft replicas are hard to come by, and when you do find one, the experience of the person reviewing the gun might still not match reality, maybe because they had a bad day or because the shop who sent them their review version hand-picked a replica just for them to give a glowing recommendation.

Many shops have a place for buyers to rate the product they purchased, but just how honest are these "reviews"? Who says that negative reviews aren't removed from the site to portrait the product in a better light? The shop has an incentive to do so, they want you to buy stuff afterall.

In other words: Finding out weather or not an airsoft replica is good or matches your playstyle is near impossible as a beginner, and can be hard even for well-experienced players. Most often players will rely on word-of-mouth, and we want to change that.

Our mission

AirsoftCheck will aim to do the following: Provide a platform for players to share their opinion about airsoft replicas, for you and others to search through and find reviews as well as other people's opinions. This will hopefully enable players to make a more informed decision.

We are currently in phase 1 of the development, which means, AirsoftCheck currently allows you to do the following:

  • Create reviews for airsoft replicas
  • Search for replicas that have been entered in our database by other players
  • See the reviews that others created
  • See a comprehensive overview and score for each replica

As more reviews and more users come onto our platform, we will continuously expand the site and add new features.

  • A review queue and moderation system to filter out fradulent reviews
  • A more detailed breakdown of reviews by category and the ability to comment on individual ratings
  • A breakdown of ratings over time, to identify trends like worsening quality control
  • The possibility to link replicas to the shops they can be bought from, allowing you to identify the exact replica that is referenced in a review
  • And much, much more!

Of course for all those features to have any merit, we require a growing, active user-base, so our focus right now is to get players to join us and review their replicas before we move forward with more advanced features.
